I am currently a contributing photographer and blogger to the local Philadelphia music, art and lifestyle site Phrequency.com. Design Consumption is a photo feature I created for them that focuses on great interior design in the culinary scene here in Philly. I also developed this type treatment slash unofficial logo for the promo banners that will be used on the Phrequency.com.
The first feature that I shot and wrote for them went up this week.
Check out  Vol 1: Revolution House
The decor of Revolution House was inspired by Ben Franklin and his Junto Society, there are so many fantastic details in this place, it was a real pleasure shooting it.

Drinking soda never looked so classy. 1920s fictional soda company ad, super fun project I did for work. It has a small collage element, the soda bottle was put in, in the original she’s just holding the flowers.

Ode to Los Angeles typographic poster featuring city and state mottos.

[Eureka!] I have found it!
The City of Angels.

The second in my Ode to … series, this time Los Angeles. I’ve visited California many times and been to Los Angeles twice. When it comes to art, tattoos, design and street art, that city is one that I find infinitely inspiring.

Liberty, Independence, Virtue
[Caritas fraternitatis maneat in vobis] The City of Brotherly Love

Some old, some new, some tattoo typographic influence on this ode to the city I live in. The typographic choices reflect the city a bit, it is an historic city but there’s also a lot of grungyness here too along with a move towards contemporary spaces. This city is changing and evolving at a rapid pace lately, its an exciting time to live here.

Two proposed designs for the lacrosse project I’m working on.

Two proposed designs for the lacrosse project I’m working on.

Happy #stpatricksday. I created these Celtic inspired patterns for a freelance project related to the national Irish lacrosse team making it to the 2011 World Lacrosse Championships. The patterns are made up of modified ‘I’ and ‘L’ letters. I’m creating a t-shirt design, these patterns won’t be used in the finale design but I really liked them. Several people said they’d make great tattoos if you’re really into lacrosse haha.

Fog Bomb typography collage. This was a project for work, the brief was just to illustrate the words ‘fog’ and ‘bomb’ in an interesting manner. Three different photos from flickr commons were used along with the vector elements. It took 13 14 different versions before I finally came to this one, I’m 99% satisfied with it haha.

Graphic novel test cover with a logo I designed, illustration by Archaenon. I dig how the sketch contrasts with the clean type. This is for a web-comic project, the person illustrated is the main character Leroy, he’s an undercover cop trying to get out.
